Refreshing Watermelon & Feta Salad

Description

This vibrant and refreshing salad is the quintessential summer side dish, perfect for picnics, barbecues, or any outdoor gathering. It's incredibly easy to make, especially when you have the right Cutco tools at hand.

A refreshing watermelon and feta salad in a white bowl, garnished with fresh mint and basil leaves, and sprinkled with black pepper. The watermelon is cut into bite-sized cubes, as is the feta cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups cubed watermelon (seedless is best!)

  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese

  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion

  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. For effortless watermelon cubing, reach for your long, flexible slicing knife, the Salmon Knife. Its unique design makes navigating the melon a breeze. You can even see a video demonstration of this technique here.

  2. With your precision slicing knife, the Trimmer, thinly slice the red onion.

  3. Gather your fresh mint leaves and use your Super Shears to quickly and easily chop them.

  4. In a large bowl, gently combine the watermelon, feta cheese, red onion, and chopped mint.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper.

  6. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

  7. Chill until ready to serve. Enjoy your delicious and refreshing summer salad!

Kitchen Efficiency Tip: The Picnic Pro: Smart Packing & Knife Safety for Outdoor Dining

When planning your outdoor feast, remember that organization and safety are key, especially when transporting your valuable Cutco knives. Always use your Kitchen Knife Sheaths when packing knives to protect both the blades and your hands. This prevents accidental cuts and keeps your knives sharp and ready for action. For your prep work, consider doing as much chopping and slicing as possible at home using your Cutting Boards. Store prepped ingredients in airtight containers. This saves time at your destination and ensures your food stays fresh and cool. A well-packed cooler with ice packs is your best friend for keeping perishable items safe during transport.
